Of all the reasons to hate the Last Jedi, hating Rey's lack of famous parents is truly the stupidest. It is fucked up to think that the only way to be someone special is to have special parents. Truly, deeply fucked up. This is a movie about fighting space Nazis, so why are you embracing Nazi ideas about parentage? And Rey being nobody expands the Star Wars universe. Her being a Palpatine shrinks it. Of all the complaints this is the most bizarre, the most unthinking.
